S2 E15: The Pain Free Living podcast is 1 year old 🎂
In this short episode, Bob Allen, osteopath, and Clare Elsby, therapist and coach, pause to celebrate the Pain Free Living Podcast’s first birthday.
What began as a small, slightly nerve-wracking project has grown into something global. Over the past year, the podcast has reached over 150 YouTube subscribers spread across the world, including listeners in Brazil, China, Laos, and Kazakhstan.
On the audio side, there have been more than 1,600 downloads, with listeners in the UK, United States, Australia, and Japan, to name just a few.
While the numbers aren’t massive (yet), we looked at what those figures really represent to us and that is people like you looking for calm, jargon-free explanations about your body, particularly when pain or uncertainty feels overwhelming.
One interesting pattern we’ve noticed is how viewers and listeners engage the podcast differently.
On YouTube, the most popular episode has been Season 2, Episode 3 – Osteopathy and Therapy Coaching Demystified, while the most listened-to audio episode is Season 1, Episode 4 – Strength and Balance.
Same podcast, different formats, different preferences.
We would love to know why there is a difference, so if you are a committed audio or visual kind of person, our big question is why?
This episode is a short, heartfelt thank you to all and a commitment from us to keep the conversations clear, honest, and human.
Stay tuned as the first episode of Season 3 will be dropping next week, and we hope you like it.
HUGE THANKS to the team, you never see but make mine and Clare’s podcasting lives much easier, namely Ash McKenzie (producer extraordinaire and much more) and Jennifer Herbert (VA Supreme).

Hello and welcome to our podcast, the Pain Free Living Podcast.
Speaker A:,:Speaker A:It's seen a few changes and we are getting better at making the podcast.
Speaker A:Ashley, the man behind the cameras, isn't getting any better.
Speaker A:He was really, really good when we started and he's just managed to maintain that standard the whole time.
Speaker A:Somehow he's managed to make myself and my very capable co host Claire look like we know what we're talking about most of the time.
Speaker A:We do.
Speaker A:Generally we have a good conversation and we feel like we're slowly getting the hang of it.
Speaker A:So this is the first year of our podcast.
Speaker A:We'll have another many, many more years to go, hopefully.
Speaker A:And the plan is to bring you topics that you may not be able to find in the main screen.
Speaker A:We try and keep the podcast short, we try and keep them concise, and we try and give you information that you need.
Speaker A:We do our best to make it jargon free and easy to understand and hopefully we'll continue to do that.
Speaker A:What you'll notice going from this one is that we're going to start having some guests on people we think have got interesting things that you'd like to hear.
Speaker A:We might do a few product reviews, so easier for me than for Clare, although I'm sure you can think of.
Speaker B:A few things that will give me something to think about, that will give.
Speaker A:You something to think about.
Speaker A:And yeah, we just hope to keep it interesting.
Speaker A:We hope to keep you coming back.
Speaker A:So that's it from me.
Speaker A:Have you got anything to add to that, Claire?
Speaker B:No, just thank you very much for inviting me to come on.
Speaker B:I had a, you know, big boots to follow in terms of Louise Borden, so, you know, big thanks to her because she was part of the.
Speaker B:The beginning.
Speaker B:This is totally new to me doing this, so it's completely out of my comfort zone.
Speaker B:But then we are supposed to stretch ourselves, aren't we, and get out of our comfort zones from time to time.
Speaker B:And, you know, big thanks to Ash, as I say, behind the cameras, doing his stuff.
Speaker B:Yeah, all my menopausal moments don't seem to have made the screen, so that's great.
Speaker A:I wasn't expecting that to come out, but yeah, so we're kind of done with this.
Speaker A:We just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that's been watching and been liking and subscribing.
Speaker A:We really appreciate it and hopefully you'll stick with us and Louise.
Speaker A:Yeah, Hi.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's it.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Here's to another year.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Happy birthday.
